Coming Together

ILA/ACRL & IPAL Spring Conference

Thursday, May 31 and Friday, June 1, 2018

Drake University, Des Moines, IA

Academic and research libraries are often at the center of their communities. Across collections, constituencies and disciplines, we help cultivate interdisciplinary and cultures of collaboration and compromise. In what ways do you and your library come together to work with different communities? Through campus collaborations, library partnerships, and departmental relationships? In public services, collection development, special collections, or technical services? The possibilities are endless. For the first time, this year ILA/ACRL & IPAL are coming together to co-host a two-day Spring Conference, and our focus will be on the many ways the people who work at academic and research libraries come together.

The planning committee will be evaluating the proposals based on relevance to the conference theme (Coming Together), interest to the academic and research library community, uniqueness, organization and clarity, and the presenter(s) demonstrated knowledge of the subject.

Please submit proposals for 6-minute lightning rounds and 50-minute concurrent sessions online by 11:59 p.m. on March 30, 2018. The committee will notify those who submitted proposals by April 9, 2018.

Please direct any questions to Carrie Dunham-LaGree, carrie.dunham-lagree@drake.edu, Spring Conference Planning Committee chair.
